Graff Ruby Ring

Laurence Graff originally bought the ruby at auction in 2006 and named the stone the Graff Ruby. Set in a ring designed by Graff with triangular shaped and round brilliant cut diamonds, this cushion-shaped gemstone  exhibits a vivid red  hue characteristic of natural rubies from Mogok, located in Burma. In the trade, the color is often referred to as “pigeon’s blood.” Rubies of this size, color, and clarity are rare—accounting for the soaring price of the few that are on the market. The Graff Ruby sold for $8.6 million; very close to the top of its pre-sale estimate.
